...Friday Night in the City

One great thing about my job, is that I have EVERY Friday off.  Lucky me.  So, I always try to find something to do, and this Friday me and the girls went to San Francisco.  I really do like San Francisco, but I love Seattle more. Anyway, this year I have decided to take advantage of the places that surround me, so SF was our destination.  Here are the events as they happened--

Tuesday afternoon:
Me: Rachael...don't forget to get the Alcatraz tickets before they sell out
Rachael: I'll do it as soon as I get home
 Next day....
Me: Did you get em
Rachael: No...I will right now.
Thursday night...
Rachael: You're gonna hate me...
Me:They're sold out?
Rachael:.........I've learned a valuable lesson.

Bummer....but we made different plans, and Rachael, Martha, and Myself headed out to S.F, to the De Young Museum, to check out the King Tut Exhibit.   Rachael=Queen of nerds...gets an audio set..(omigosh..that's embarrassing)...and we strutted around, looking at really amazing old Artifacts, and the history of Egypt, and the Egyptians and it really makes me want to travel there.  But P.S. Don't buy the place mats they have for sale in the gift shop... $22.00 for silicone mats?!! What a rip!

After the museum, we cruised on over and met up with some people at Cha Cha Cha www.cha3.com on Haight Street.  With one umbrella, three girls, and pouring rain...that.was.not.fun....at all!!  But, we drank really great Sangria and ate great food...you know the kind where once the food comes, the whole table gets completely SILENT...that kind of great.

San Francisco gets a lot less intimidating when you are with people who know the city, but no matter how many people I am with, parking in a seedy alley full of people sleeping...that still intimidates me...it scares me.  Harlot www.harlotsf.com..our last stop.  A place, I'd like to go back to again, but I'll make sure I don't wear a jacket...cause I don't have it anymore cause it got stolen.  Bastards!!!! I'd like to hope that the bitch that stole it, is huge, and no matter how hard she tries she can't squeeze her big body into EVER.  It was such a cute waist jacket, with band major buttons on it, RIP jacket...miss you already.

Let me get to the good part...it helped that we were with people who know the DJ and so the cover=free.  See that couch in the picture there, that's where we were, sitting, drinking, watching the little Harlot girls dancing in the window...SEXY...they looked cold, did they take my jacket?! Hmmm....

We went out to dance, the DJ, was really awesome!! He played really good mixes, and I was so hot, I was dying. This super adorable guy, who I am pretty sure is in Flight of the Conchords was dancing with us, and he tells me I have great eyes..."why, thank you, you dancing maniac."  He offers to buy me a drink, and when he comes back with the drink, which I now think back, and think how stupid of me to let him GO buy me a drink...it could have been so easy to have put something in it!!!  He puckered up for a big, fat smooch on the lips!!! WTF?!  Um, no....just cause you buy me a vodka soda, doesn't merit a kiss, not from me anyway, you're cute, and I liked your skinny  tie..but I don't just going around kissing anyone at a club!  Another drink bought for me, by a different guy, wearing a wool blazer...I'm sure he was so hot, but he looked good, so he kept it on, so he buys me a drink, and then, comes up and tries to grind his ass into my crotch?!  WOW....I'm thinking about it now, and laughing, but this shiz is crazy.

There was a girl completely high on Ecstasy... so grooosss!!! She kept bumping into the chair I was sitting in!! Hey bitch, if you are gonna basically have sex in front of us...at least stop bumping my chair, it's distracting.  So gross, and not classy, you should have seen this gross display of a girl. DIS-GUS.  It was like a bad car wreck, as heinous as it was, I couldn't look away.  The guy standing there, getting completely molested, looked pleased though.  Boys...they're crazy.  At 2:00 AM I went to get my jacket off of the couch and it was GONE!  Pissed, and cold, we walked to the car.

All in all, it was a really fun night, but the city can exhaust you if you aren't used to how intense it is.  I can't wait to go back though again! Mr. Smith's here we come.

I don't mind being single, as long as I'm not alone.

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy girl who'll decide where to go."
- Dr. Seuss

Don't let my title deceive you.  I am not a co-dependent, I don't need to be with somebody, just anybody, but what I mean by that, is that, I think when I was first single....I really found myself lost.  I had never been single before!  I found myself wondering what to do, thinking people who aren't single won't want to be friends with the single girl.  But in the last few months, I've really found solace in my friends, both coupled, and not.

I am running again, which is taking me to the Shamrockin' Half Marathon in West Sac. with my friend Rachael from Redding, and it is also taking me to San Francisco for the Bay to Breakers 7 miler with my other friend, we're pretty sure soul mates..AND neighbor Rach...both runners, both Rachaels!! The Rachael that lives here has really opened me up to a lot of things, we are planning a trip to Vegas in April, and we both LOVE musicals, something that I have never had in a friend before...oh Rachael..you've won my heart!

 Rachael number 2 and I in S.F.

I am finding things to volunteer for, I am going to start time for clearing trails at state parks for hikers in Marin, can't wait for that.  I am going to start horseback riding in March, and I'm visiting my family more. I'm listening to myself more, of what I need to be peaceful, and happy.

I don't mind being single, in fact, I like it. I live for me right now, and why shouldn't I?! But as long as I'm living....then I'm perfectly fine with where I am, single, but not alone, wanting, not needing, hopeful....not hopeless.
